First things first – what, why, when and how…
In marketing, branding and business I do recommend to follow the strategic steps.
Unfortunately many companies, marketing managers, marketing consultants and even the marketing agencies jump straight into the end and jump all over the very important strategic basics.
They just hurry up to do “something” but do not know why, what is the purpose, the goal, the strategy and what problem are they really solving for clients.
They do not understand you, your company, your customers and your strategy. Usually they jump straight into PPC campaigns, do tactical moves and spend a lot of money without knowing the strategy and business goals.
Companies are often focused only on fast results – that’s why they like when agencies prepare fast campaigns, banners, newsletters, PPC campaigns and content for social media.
But without proper marketing and brand strategy, clear definition of business goals, clear mission and vision, without strategic branding and marketing it is often just a painful and sad story with a lot of wasted money, time and energy…

Why should you be interested? Because I know how it is…
I know how it is. I went through it and I saw it many times… Your marketing team and basically all your employees in sales, project management, customer service, operation, helpdesk… are so busy.
They have a lot of work with daily tasks and execution. They are too busy because there is always something… New tasks, new requirements, new things to add or to create, new deadlines, new clients, new projects, new orders, some complaints to solve…
Then a colleague who needs help with something, then suddenly something that looks easy and fast requires a little bit more time, more information, more people, another meeting and so on.
Then there is always something to repair, adjust, send for approval and then finally implement it and finish it. People try to solve everything but they are so busy and over tasked that there is no time to stop, take a step back and analyse, no time to think strategically, look back and go through reports and find what could be improved.
There is no time to be “bored”, be creative and produce ideas and solutions for improvements. There is no time to just go and have a look at what we are doing, why and how or how others are doing it.
There is no time to think and analyse what we could improve because we just go forward. But creative ideas and new projects can be created when there is time for it, not under pressure when we are busy and always solving something somewhere.
When we add the fact that the internal team can see it many times just from inside without a bigger picture it can be really very limited for progress of your business. That’s why someone who has real and practical experience with different point of view and someone who is not busy with daily tasks and execution can see things differently.
Experienced external marketing, branding and business consultant with complex point of view from above and from outside with a time for creative and strategic thinking and with time for research and analysis can help, advise, suggest and recommend improvements for your business and help your team.
So if you want to see how your business is going and if there is space for improvements then you should definitely consider cooperation with an external consultant / interim manager.

When we start building a house we cannot start with the windows, garden or with the furniture. We need to start with a clear plan to understand what we are about to build, how are we going to build it and why.
Then we will start with the base and build the house from the bottom, to the walls and then to the roof and not otherwise. It is important to look at your business and your marketing activities as one complex system where everything is connected.
Look at your marketing and branding strategy, marketing activities, business goals and processes and understand what you need to achieve, when, why and how. If there are are not proper basics then many strategic areas can be limited – same as when you build a house…

Many times companies do not see the problems because of their point of view – from inside.
